2012 Guatemala GO Projects

Please note that all Guatemala in-country arrangements will be made through Reggie Quimby to ensure proper arrangements with IMB.  The Guatemala “GO” projects will be through IMB.  The estimated cost will be approximately $1,300 to $1,500.  This cost will cover international travel, local travel, insurance, background checks, translators, lodging, and meals. Note: If our office handles travel arrangements, a deposit of $200 (non-refundable) per person is required in order to make reservations, payable to Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, with balance due two months prior to date of project.  Once an airline reservation is made for a volunteer, the volunteer is required to pay for the ticket. To schedule an Orientation session, please contact Barbara Owen.

GO Teams will be involved in Gospel distribution in areas of Guatemala that have little or no evangelical witness. Teams will also be involved in Prayer Walking the area where they will distribute portions of Scripture and witnessing. The objective is to help start Bible Studies with the goal of new churches to be planted. Follow-up will be done by Guatemalan Baptists that will work with your team as well as our IMB missionaries. There will be lots of walking and volunteers need to be in good health! 8-12 volunteers, age 18 and up. (All GO projects are identical, except for the dates, see below.)
