Demographic Resources for Church Planting and Developing an Evangelism Strategy
In Partnership with IICM, The Intercultural Institute for Contextual Ministry, the Alabama State Board of Missions provides a number of resources for the churches and the association to use in developing a missional strategy to reach their area for Christ. These resources work together to highlight state-wide and regional needs as well as specific people groups that need to be reached. The diagram below demonstrates how these resources complement one another in moving our understanding and involvement from a larger emphasis to specific locations and people groups for implementation.

 Mission Digest Reports and Mission Site Reports
Listed together are two of the larger reports, the Mission Digest Reports and the Mission Site Reports. You can navigate to reports for a particular area by using a map interface (here) or by a text format listing (here).
Where you see the Name of the Association followed by the name of a community: Click on the name to download the 2-Page Mission Site Digest in RTF file format which can be opened in MS Word or other word processing software. These files can be edited.
PDF: These are the 2-page Mission Site Digests in PDF file format. They have a more attractive layout, but are not editable.

About the People You are Trying to Reach in Your Zip Code
Extensive information about the lifestyles and attitudes of people in your zip code.
Click the link above. Enter your zip code. You will be taken to a list of the people groups in that zip code. Your church can add one report for one people cluster to your cart at no charge. Additional reports are $25... however, if another church in your zip code has already used their credit for a particular report, it is free to you also.
Free Demographic Summaries for Your Zip Code
From IICM. Free registration (with pending approval) required. Worth your effort and the delay for approval. These reports are not as extensive as the reports from the Missional Zip Code site above.
Once your registration is approved, log-in and look on the top of the page. You will see "CommunityScape" and "MissionScape." Each of these has a drop-down menu when you place your cursor over it, offering various types of information. Once you enter your Zip Code for one set of information, you can click on other reports without having to re-enter your zip code. Each report under CommunityScape has a name like SocioScape, FutureScape, etc. The MissionScape menu offers reports called Cultural Bridges, Cultural Barriers, Cultural Themes, etc. Your can change the zip code and get information for those communities, also at no cost.
