The purpose of the office is to enable associations, churches and leaders to do missions and ministry in their setting through the following services:

Black Church Relations -- To actively engage in the ministry of reconciliation, to enhance fellowship and cooperative endeavors among Southern and National Baptists, and to work with these Baptists in seeking to evangelize and congregationalize their communities.

Language Missions -- To assist associations and churches to establish and develop ministries, missions, and churches among language/cultural people.

Long-Range Planning -- To assist associations to evaluate their setting and/or to develop long-range plans. To provide statistical resources: community demographic data, statistics, and religious facts.

Church and Community Ministry -- To assist associations and churches to minister to the whole person through meeting spiritual, physical, social, mental, and emotional needs of people.

Black-Church Relations:
Administration, Give leadership to NAMB appointed missionaries, Provide scholarship assistance, Give pastoral leadership Day Street Baptist Church, Strengthen office tie with National Baptists, Lead Human Relations Conference, Coordinate regional committees for Racial Reconciliation.
