Communications Services

Communications Services is under the auspices of State Missionary Bobby DuBois, who is director of the Office of Information & Facility Services and also serves as associate executive director. Among the office's responsibilities are:

preparation of the Alabama Baptist State Convention calendar and production of an annual planning calendar for churches.
arrangements for the annual State Convention meeting.
design and maintenance of the State Board of Missions web site at www.alsbom.org
release of news and information about the State Board of Missions to the news media, including through The Alabama Baptist newspaper, Baptist Press, and secular broadcasters and newspapers.
design of the "Focus" insert in The Alabama Baptist, which is usually published the last Thursday of each month.
production of various audiovisual products for use by State Board staff and Alabama Baptist churches.
advice to churches on public relations and electronic media techniques.
conducting tours of the Baptist Building by appointment.
maintenance and operation of a video library for Alabama Baptist churches.

Meet Our Missionaries

Provides leadership and coordination of all Communications Services ministries, including print, on-line media, news and information, graphics and multimedia.

Produces audio and video for a variety of media products -- such as DVDs, CDs, tapes and on-line presentations -- to tell the story of what God is doing through the State Board of Missions in partnership with Alabama Baptists.

Oversees the planning and logistics of the annual State Convention meeting, administers licenses held by the SBOM related to the use of copyrighted products, provides Alabama Baptists with insights related to copyright, media ministries and related areas.
