Joe Bob Mizzell
State Missionary Joe Bob Mizzell is the director of the Office of Christian Ethics & Chaplaincy Ministries for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
As Director of Christian Ethics, he helps Alabama Baptists understand and apply the principles and attitudes of the Christian faith to all areas of life, such as family life, race relations, moral issues, economic problems and Christian citizenship. Other areas of interest include Christian Life Report; Gambling Issues; Legislative Updates; Moral Issues Conference Requests; Moral Issues. He came to this position in August 1991. Previously, Joe served as pastor of Alberta Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa. He and his wife, Peggie, are members of Hopewell Baptist Church, Marion. They have a daughter and a son.
Education: Isabella High School, Maplesville; Bachelor of Science, Howard College (Samford University); Master of Arts, University of Alabama; Master of Divinity, New Orleans Seminary; Doctor of Ministry, New Orleans Seminary.
