Troy L. Morrison Leadership/Church Health Award

 

The “Troy L. Morrison” Leadership/Church Health Award has become a significant recognition since its inception in 1999.  During the first three years of its existence the award was presented in two categories, New Work and Established Work.  In 2002 the award was expanded to include a minister from a Bivocational Work (a church where the pastor holds dual employment).The presentations of the awards are made at the State Convention in November each year.

The criteria that has been followed in selecting recipients includes a basic statement, three categories with reference being given to three general groupings of churches (small, medium, large).

 
The statement:
This award, The Troy L. Morrison Leadership/Church Health Award, will be given to those individuals who have demonstrated evidence of leadership that has advanced the church in four key areas of kingdom growth-spiritual growth, ministry advancement, missions involvement and numerical growth.
 
The recipients:
Three categories –
New Work, Established Work, and Bivocational
New work (church less than ten years old)
Established work (church older than ten years)
Bivocational (church where the pastor holds dual employment)
Three Groupings –
Thoughtful reference has been and should continue to be given to persons who have served and are serving in small, medium or large size churches.
