Teman Knight
State Missionary Teman Knight is director of the Office of Leadership & Church Health for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. He has also served as an associate in the Evangelism Office.
Teman and his wife, Darlana, are members of Vaughn Forest Baptist Church, Montgomery. They have a son, Jay, and a daughter, Alana.
Education: doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.), New Orleans Seminary, May 1992, major Old Testament and Hebrew, minor evangelism, dissertation, "The Presence of God in the Old Testament"; master of divinity, New Orleans Seminary, May 1988; bachelor of arts, psychology, Southeastern Louisiana University, December 1985.
Ministerial Experience: pastor, York Terrace Baptist Church, Sheffield (1993-2001); pastor, Hillsdale Baptist Church, Amite, La.(1989-1993); pastor, Bethel Baptist Church, Kentwood, La. (1987-1989); pastor, Sunny Hill Baptist Church, Mt. Hermon, La. (1985-1987).
Other Experience: adjunct professor of Old Testament and Hebrew for New Orleans Seminary (1992-present); adjunct professor of religion, William Carey College New Orleans campus (1991-1993).
